About Us

From the sprawling landscapes of the Dadaab refugee camp to the heart of the global community, Give It Back Refugee Aid is more than just an organization – it's a testament to the enduring spirit of hope and resilience.

The seeds of our initiative were sown by Abdikhadar Shire, a beacon of strength and determination, who once called the Dadaab refugee camp his home. Along with a team of dedicated colleagues – all of whom share a history intertwined with the lanes and stories of the same camp – Abdikhadar embarked on a journey that wasn't merely fueled by an idea, but an obligation. An obligation to reach out to those they had left behind, to echo their struggles, dreams, and aspirations, and to pave a path laden with hope.

Why? Because they've walked this road before. Every challenge faced by the residents of refugee camps, every tear shed, every dream nurtured in the heart of adversity is a page from their own story. Leveraging their personal experiences, combined with the education and global insights they've gathered, Abdikhadar and his team set forth to fix the gaps in support services for refugees – gaps they once navigated themselves.

But this journey is not undertaken alone. Recognizing the vital role played by agencies and non-governmental organizations in their own tales of transformation, Give It Back Refugee Aid aims to forge strong partnerships with these entities. Serving as the missing link, the organization endeavors to bridge the divide between relief efforts and the genuine needs of the refugees, ensuring that support reaches its intended recipients in the most effective manner possible.

In essence, Give It Back Refugee Aid is not just about assistance – it's about connection, solidarity, and ensuring that every refugee feels seen, heard, and valued. With roots in shared experiences and a vision for a brighter, more inclusive future, we are here to give back, to uplift, and to stand as a beacon of hope for every individual who, like us, dreams of a world beyond the camp.

At Give It Back Refugee Aid, we believe in the unyielding spirit of humanity and the intrinsic right of every individual to safety, dignity, and opportunity. Driven by compassion and a commitment to justice, our mission is to provide essential aid, support, and resources to refugees displaced by conflict, persecution, or natural disasters. We are dedicated to fostering resilient communities, bridging cultural divides, and ensuring that every displaced person can rebuild their lives and reclaim their future. Together, we are not just giving back; we are restoring hope and shaping a world where no one is left behind."

"In a world where displacement and despair loom large, we envision a future where every refugee is embraced by a global community united in understanding, compassion, and action. At Give It Back Refugee Aid, our vision is a world where borders are transcended by shared humanity, where every refugee finds a sanctuary in the midst of chaos, and where hope, dignity, and opportunity are not privileges but basic human rights. Together, we are creating a world that responds, respects, and restores."
